May 10 Free migratory bird walk in the saline wetlands between Mazarrón and Alhama
Discover the crypto-wetland birdlife site near the road from Camposol and Condado to Alhama
World Migratory Bird Day is celebrated on 9th May and on the following day this special guided walk is being held to welcome the summer avian visitors which arrive every year at the saline wetlands of the Guadalentín valley, at a site in the countryside between Totana, Alhama de Murcia and Mazarrón.
Starting at 10.00 and lasting approximately three and a half hours, this free guided walk is along a 7-km route described as being of low difficulty (not recommended for under-9s), in an unusual countryside where the saline nature of the water supply has led to it being classified as a “crypto-wetland”.
Registration is available online here from 25th April at 9.30.
Click here to see the full programme of events like these in the “Mochila de Actividades” program organized by the regional government of Murcia during April, May and June.
