Frenchman arrested in San Pedro del Pinatar with nearly 3kg of marijuana
Stopped by the Guardia Civil, the 29-year-old was found with almost 3kg of marijuana and a toy pistol

The Guardia Civil have stopped a car in San Pedro del Pinatar and seized nearly three kilos of marijuana, arresting the driver on suspicion of drug trafficking.
The operation began during a routine security check on the N-322, near a busy local shopping centre. Officers noticed a vehicle acting suspiciously. When they attempted to stop it, the driver ignored the police and continued for a short distance before being pulled over.

Inside the car, the 29-year-old French driver, who spoke very little Spanish, claimed not to understand the officers. The rental car gave off a strong smell of marijuana. A search revealed 17 grams of marijuana under the driver’s seat, a toy pistol under the front passenger seat, and three mobile phones in the car.
In the boot, officers found three large packages wrapped in plastic and tape. The driver insisted they contained rolling tobacco, but they actually held almost three kilos of dry marijuana, which was seized.

Authorities arrested the man on suspicion of drug trafficking, which is treated as a crime against public health.
