British man found shot dead in Orihuela Costa
The Guardia Civil is investigating the death of a 29-year-old British man found with gunshot wounds at a property in Campoamor

The Guardia Civil is investigating the death of a 29-year-old British man who was found with gunshot wounds at a property in Campoamor, Orihuela Costa (Alicante). The man’s body was discovered on the night of December 21 inside a residential home. Sources close to the investigation say his injuries were consistent with having been shot.
The case has been taken on by the Guardia Civil’s homicide unit in Alicante, which is leading enquiries.
A court in Orihuela has ordered that the investigation remains under judicial secrecy, meaning police are not able to release further details at this stage.
Early reports suggest that friends raised the alarm after becoming concerned about the man’s welfare. Officers attended the property shortly afterwards, where he was found dead.
So far, no arrests have been made, and the Guardia Civil has not confirmed a motive. Investigators are continuing to examine the circumstances surrounding the death and are keeping all lines of enquiry open.
Campoamor, a quiet coastal area famous for its golf courses and international community, has been shaken by the news, though the Guardia Civil says there’s no sign of a wider threat. Further information is expected once the court allows more details to be made public.
The latest shooting comes not long after another violent incident in Orihuela Costa. On December 11, a 32-year-old English man, recently released from prison, was shot multiple times in Lomas de Cabo Roig. That attack, also under investigation by the Guardia Civil, is believed to be linked to disputes between rival criminal gangs.
