Alicante weekend weather September 24-27: Temperatures keep climbing

Temperatures will hit the mid-30s on Friday before easing back a touch over the weekend, with plenty of sunshine across the Alicante Province

Autumn may have arrived this week, but you'd never know it from the weather. It's been warm all week, and the temperatures will continue to rise, with some parts of the Alicante Province reaching the mid-30s on Friday. So, there's no need to get the cardigans out of storage just yet. Let's have a look at the daily breakdown.

Thursday September 24

Thursday will be mostly clear across Alicante Province, although there will be some cloud along parts of the coast during the early morning. Temperatures will stay much the same, with Alcoy reaching 31°C. Alicante city and Dénia will both reach 29°C, while Elche will reach 30°C and Orihuela 31°C. Minimum temperatures will range from 14°C in Alcoy to 19°C in Alicante city. Dénia will have a low of 18°C, while Elche will drop to 17°C and Orihuela to 18°C.

Winds will be light and variable, becoming more southerly and easterly around midday, getting stronger along the coast in the afternoon.

Friday September 25

Friday will be mostly clear, with some cloud around at times, but temperatures will rise across the Province. Alcoy will reach 34°C, while Alicante city will reach 29°C. Dénia will reach 31°C and Elche 33°C, while Orihuela could hit 36°C. Minimum temperatures will range from 18°C in Alcoy, Elche and Orihuela to 20°C in Alicante city. Dénia will have a low of 19°C.

Winds will be light and variable, mainly from the west, turning southeasterly around lunchtime.

Saturday September 26

Saturday will be a little cooler, although it will still be warm and mostly sunny across Alicante Province. There will be a few patches of cloud along the coast first thing. Alcoy will reach 30°C, while Alicante city and Dénia will both reach 29°C. Elche and Orihuela will both reach 31°C. Minimum temperatures will range from 17°C in Alcoy to 22°C in Alicante city. Dénia will have a low of 20°C, while Elche and Orihuela will both drop to 20°C.

Winds will be light and variable, becoming easterly around midday.

Sunday September 27

Sunday will be a little cloudier, but temperatures will be fairly similar, with Alcoy reaching 28°C. Alicante city and Dénia will both reach 29°C, while Elche and Orihuela will reach 30°C. Minimum temperatures will range from 16°C in Alcoy to 21°C in Alicante city. Dénia will have a low of 19°C, while Elche will drop to 17°C and Orihuela to 18°C.

Winds will be light and variable, becoming easterly around midday.

So, despite the calendar telling us it's autumn, the weather doesn't seem to have got the memo just yet. Alicante is still very much holding on to summer for now.
