The Three Kings land on the Costa Blanca: Your complete guide to the best parades
Their Majesties have already landed on the Alicante coast and this weekend promises some unmissable family entertainment
The countdown to see the Three Kings in all their glory has begun. After a long journey from the East, their Majesties and their Royal Pages have already landed in the Vega Baja region and everyone is gearing up for a series of spectacular parades on Sunday January 5.
Luckily, the weather forecast for the Costa Blanca and the rest of Alicante is fair compared to some parts of Spain, and none of the festivities should be marred by more than a scattered shower here and there.
Here’s your run-down of The Three Kings’ parades:
Guardamar del Segura
Guardamar’s Three Kings village will open to the public on Avenida de los Pinos at 11am on Friday January 3.
The grand parade on Sunday January 5 will depart from the Plaza de la Agrupación Musical at 6pm.
Dolores
The Three Kings will begin their procession at 5pm on January 5, departing from Príncipe de Asturias Avenue.
San Miguel de Salinas
At 5.30pm, the parade will start at the Town Hall and proceed to Plaza Jaime I. The event will include gift-giving by the Three Kings.
Los Montesinos
The procession kicks off at 6pm from Avenida del Mar. The Kings will be welcomed and continue with a grand parade to the Town Hall Square, accompanied by the Gym Ballesta dance troupe and the Montesinos Musical Group. Upon arrival, all children will receive a gift from Melchor, Gaspar and Baltasar.
Benejúzar
The Grand Parade begins at 6pm, starting from the Auditorium and travelling along Constitución and Comandante Bernabé streets to Plaza de España.
Granja de Rocamora
The Three Kings will arrive at 6pm and parade from Avenida Juan Carlos I to Plaza de la Iglesia.
Orihuela Costa – Saturday January 4
The parade will take place at 5pm, starting from Calle Nicolás de Bussy and concluding at the La Zenia Shopping Centre.
Orihuela City
At 11am on January 5, the Mayor of Orihuela will present the keys to the city to the Three Kings at the María Moliner Library. Following this, they will be received at the Teatro Circo Atanasio Die.
Torrevieja
January 3 and 4: The Three Kings will collect letters at the Royal Camp, located at the Church of the Immaculate Conception and Plaza Encarnación Puchol, between 4.30pm and 7.30pm.
January 5: The grand parade will begin at 5.30pm.
Almoradí
January 4: The Royal Pages will visit Plaza de la Constitución from 11am to 1pm.
January 5: A grand parade will take place at 6pm.
Alicante City
If you’re planning a trip to Alicante to welcome the Three Kings, you certainly won’t be disappointed, as the city council promises a day full of magic and surprises.
The Three Kings will disembark at the Port of Alicante - Muelle de Levante - around 5pm. From there, they will move to the Bullring, where there will be a children's show for the little ones.
At 6pm, Melchor, Gaspar and Baltasar will offer their Official Reception, greeting the children of Alicante from the ring before beginning the grand parade through the streets of the city.
The procession will set off from Avenida de la Estación at 7pm and will go through the streets of the city centre to finish at Alicante City Hall. There, at around 9.30pm, Their Majesties will read their proclamation from the main balcony of the town hall building, which will bring the parade to a close.
Royal Offices
Town councils in Almoradí, San Miguel de Salinas, Dolores and Granja de Rocamora have set up royal offices to assist the Three Kings with gift delivery.
- Almoradí: January 2-3 on the 1st floor of Town Hall, from 9am-1.30pm
- San Miguel de Salinas: January 2-3 at the Town Hall, from 8am to 3pm.
- Dolores: January 2-3 at the Tourist Office’s Fiestas Department, from 10am to 2pm and 4pm to 6pm, as well as January 4 from 10am to 2pm.
- Granja de Rocamora: January 4 at the Town Hall, from 10am to 1pm and 5pm to 8pm.
