Guidelines for submitting articles to La Manga Club Today
Hello, and thank you for choosing La Manga ClubToday.com to publicise your organisation’s info or event.
La Manga Club Today is a website set up by Murcia Today specifically for residents of the urbanisation in Southwest Murcia, providing news and information on what’s happening in the local area, which is the largest English-speaking expat area in the Region of Murcia.
When submitting text to be included on La Manga Club Today, please abide by the following guidelines so we can upload your article as swiftly as possible:

Attach the information in a Word Document or Google Doc
Include all relevant points, including:
Who is the organisation running the event?
Where is it happening?
When?
How much does it cost?
Is it necessary to book beforehand, or can people just show up on the day?

September 12 to 14 Annual fiestas in the Alhama de Murcia district of Los Dolores
Locals and visitors are welcome to enjoy hiking, a sack race, plenty of food and loads of fun and games!
15th September is the feast day of the Virgen de los Dolores, one of the most revered advocations of the Virgin Mary in Spain, and to mark the occasion the district named after in the old part of Alhama de Murcia holds its annual fiestas in her honour.
The programme for the 2025 celebrations includes the following:
Thursday September 11
19.00: Macro-bingo outside the local church.
Friday September 12
18.00: The opening of a photography exhibition entitled “Escenas Costumbristas del Barrio”, showing typical scenes of how life used to be in the district.
18.00: The traditional children’s games begin outside the local church.
19.00: The children’s fairground attractions open for the evening.
20.00: Charity ham slicing event with proceeds going to the animal charities "Engatusate" abd "Peludines", with the participation of Asojam and Paco Espadas.
21.00: Tribute is paid to the Neighbour of the Year and the fiestas officially start with fireworks.
21.00: The fiestas queen and her maids of honour are elected.
Saturday September 13
8.00: The annual “Travesía por la Muela”, a hike in the mountains, starts at the local church.
11.00: Classic motorbikes display outside the local church.
12.00: Morcillas for all! Come and try this delicious Murcia variation on the theme of black pudding!
13.00: Fun music from the "Chirigota de Beniaján" and the "Chirigota del Jallullo".
18.00: An afternoon of traditional games and competitions, including a sack race, the “egg game” and walking a greasy pole. Refreshments are offered to competitors!
22.00: Live music from Trío Costa Azul and Grupo La Calle del Ritmo, followed by DJ Egoon at 1.00.
Sunday September 14
10.00: A water gymkhana for all ages – bring swimwear and a towel!
12.00: The grand migas-making competition with music supplied by DJ Egoon.
20.30: Holy Mass in honour of the Virgen de los Dolores.
21.30 (approx): Procession of the figure of the Virgen de los Dolores in the streets. The procession is followed by a firework display.
22.00 (approx): Music – a tribute to the one and only Julio Iglesias.

Oficina de Turismo de Alhama de Murcia
Alhama de Murcia Tourist information office is located on the edge of the Plaza de la Constitución, just a few metres away from the underground car park and the Town hall of Alhama de Murcia.
The tourist office offers free guided audiotours in English which take visitors around the historical sites of interest in Alhama. These be loaned at any time, although allow an hour and a half to complete the tour, and when loaning the audio equipment visitors are asked to leave passports or ID cards with the tourist office.
The office also carries a full range of leaflets for the archaeological museum of Los Baños, which is built around the historic spa which gives Alhama its name, and the mountains of Sierra Espuña, which is also an important area within the municipality of Alhama. Areas such as El Berro and Gebas have a number of interesting routes which can be followed and there are several picnic areas and good walking routes within the Sierra Espuña natural park.
The tourist office also carries leaflets for the many cultural events and fiestas which take place in Alhama throughout the year, including Los Mayos, Semana Santa, Christmas,the Romería of La Candelaria and the Auto de los Reyes Magos in El Berro.
