Roda Golf Course at Roda Golf Resort
Roda Golf is a testing 18-hole par 72 course
Situated near Los Alcázares on the Mar Menor and considered one of the best golf courses in the Region of Murcia, Roda Golf Course at Roda Golf Resort is an unforgettable experience and the venue for numerous tournaments. Measuring 6,110 metres (6,682 yards) from the white tees with lakes and streams adorning the course, it is a test of golf for all levels of experience.
From the start, the course is a challenge with the first hole a 500-metre (547-yard) par 5 featuring an almost 90-degree dogleg to the right and an elevated green guarded by a long bunker on the left -hand-side approach.
The hardest hole on the course, the stroke index 1 fourth, is a demanding one at 400 metres (437 yards), requiring a good tee shot from an elevated tee over a water course. Three bunkers await a wayward drive and then a medium to long iron to clear the stream and avoid the three bunkers guarding the right side approach to the green.
Another hard but spectacular hole is the par 3 seventh, a 169-metre (185-yard) hole with a lake and island green that intimidates from the tee. A precise medium or short iron is needed to reach it, anything short will almost certainly be in the water and involve a visit to the drop zone, which although it is only 50 yards from the front of the green still requires a shot to clear the water.
On the back nine the panoramic twelfth is the stroke index 2, par 4 at 318 metres (348 yards) with the green located on a peninsula in a lake which although representing a good opportunity for a brave shot to make a birdie could also end up in the water.
The thirteenth par 3 at 151 metres (165 yards) requires a decision off the tee, either a tee shot to the green to set up a birdie chance which requires a carry over the water or the easier route to the fairway on the left leaving a chip onto the green.
The eighteenth is a beautiful 494-metre (540 yards) par 5 to close the course, requiring a good drive which will set the player up to reach the green in two shots over the lake and finish the round off with a birdie flourish.
Other facilities include the Club House and Vive Roda Restaurant which offers impressive culinary cuisine in a relaxed atmosphere with stunning views of the entire resort.
Clubhouse phone number 968 173093.
