La Unión is connected to Cartagena via a local railway network, which runs between Cartagena and Los Nietos.
The railway station in la Unión is right in the centre of the town, and stops next to the Public marketplace in which the Cante de Las Minas Festival is held every year in August and is just a 2 minute walk from the carpark of the Parque Minero, the mining museum in la Unión.
