Plaza de España, Águilas
The Plaza de España in Águilas is a community focal point and a great place to enjoy a coffee.
The Plaza de España in Águilas is one of the most important open spaces in the town and is a focal point for many of the events and celebrations which take place in the town throughout the year, as well as being a lovely place to enjoy a cup of coffee in the open air. The central area of the Plaza is occupied by greenery, paths and fountains, established trees providing shade and shelter, creating a cool, comfortable environment.
The Plaza is fringed with shops and buildings including the Town Hall, and the main Parroquial church of San José, and contains several attractive open air bars with shaded awnings. During the really hot summer months, some of these even blow out cool air, making an iced granizado drink even more pleasurable.
The Plaza is within an easy walk of the Plaza Antonio Cortijo, which hosts many open air events during the summer and the seafront and is very close to the municipal archaeological museum.
There is parking in the streets nearby, although during the summer months, when Águilas is packed with tourists, parking anywhere can be a bit of a challenge.
For further information visit the Águilas town page.
