Nicklaus Golf Course, Condado de Alhama Resort
The 18-hole par 72 golf course is in the Condado de Alhama resort
The Condado de Alhama Golf Resort is constructed around a green gem: the Jack Nicklaus designed Signature Golf Course.
Built by Polaris World, the Condado de Alhama Golf Resort is located within the municipality of Alhama de Murcia, between the mountains of Sierra Espuña and SIerra de Carrascoy and just a short drive (in a car, not with a 3 wood!) from the beaches of the bay of Mazarrón.
The resort is ideally located for golfers, with the other courses of the Polaris resorts of La Torre, El Valle, Mar Menor Golf, Hacienda de Riquelme, and Saurines de la Torre forming the Nicklaus trail, a challenging and enjoyable golfing tour for any enthusiast, and other nearby courses including those at Camposol, Hacienda Del Álamo and Corvera golf. In addition, it is around half an hour from the Region of Murcia International Airport in Corvera.
The course occupies a central position in the resort and is not cut by roads or residential access routes, offering an uninterrupted expanse which covers a total of 96 landscaped hectares. The course itself occupies approximately half of that total surface area, the remainder forming belts of trees, shrubs and grasses which fringe the course and provide a natural break from the residential development areas.
The 18-hole par 72 Signature Course includes 4 lakes and 115 bunkers, providing a challenging yet visually pleasing game of golf with a natural feel of the Spanish countryside. Its maximum length from the white tees is 6,884 metres, and locals recommend a buggy.
A practice area, putting green, driving range and chipping greens with bunker are located conveniently close to the first hole, and the clubhouse and pro shop complete the facilities.
There is a large and enthusiastic Golf Society based at the Condado de Alhama Golf Club, which runs thrice-weekly competitions and welcomes holidaying golfers who would like to become members or join in with their members.
Location
Condado De Alhama is situated on the RM-23 dual carriageway which runs from Mazarrón to the RM-2, just a couple of kilometres from Alhama de Murcia. Connections to the AP-7 and A-7 motorways provide practical connections to the cities of Cartagena and Murcia, as well as to the Region of Murcia International Airport in Corvera.
