40 kg of marijuana seized by Local Police during vehicle checks on the Camposol urbanisation

On Thursday night (March 23) Mazarrón Policia Local officers captured a total of 40 kg of marijuana during vehicle checks at the motorway access roads to the Camposol development.

The substance would have reached a market value of around 200,000 euros at street prices.

Several police cars and officers were carrying out a vehicle check at the motorway entrances to the Camposol development, during which the driver of a vehicle tried to evade the police checkpoint but was halted by officers. Three arrests were made in connection with an alleged offence against public health and the arrested individuals will be charged with drug trafficking.

The Guardia CIvil of Puerto de Mazarrón will take over the case and continue with the investigation and clarification of the facts.

Mazarrón Policia Local sent congratulations to all their colleagues for the great work done.

This seizure follows another marijuana haul in Alicante, where a sophisticated cultivation operation was busted, 323 plants and 51 kg of marijuana were confiscated and 6 arrests were made in the province of Alicante and the Region of Murcia.
