Dog rescued from sweltering Murcia car after 2 days
The owner of the abandoned dog will be punished under Spain’s Animal Welfare Law
Murcia Fire Department came to the rescue of a distressed dog trapped within a scorching hot car for 48 agonising hours this week. An anonymous tip from a concerned passer-by revealed the pup's dire predicament in the early hours of Monday morning, April 29.
Fire trucks descended upon Avenida de la Fama, where they discovered the helpless canine stuck in the stuffy vehicle, doors sealed tight with no sign of its missing human companion. Incredibly, once the team managed to prise open the door, the dog appeared to be perfectly healthy and none the worse for wear despite the suffocating heat and prolonged isolation.
The authorities are now trying to track down the owner of the dog, who will presumably be prosecuted for neglect or abuse under Spain’s strict Animal Welfare Law.
