April 19 Triathlon in the salt flats and seafront of San Pedro del Pinatar

A picturesque event with a swim in the Mediterranean and cycling and running along the coastline of San Pedro

The 16^th edition of the “Marina de las Salinas” triathlon in the regional park of San Pedro del Pinatar is being held on Sunday 19^th April at the southern jetty of the port, with racers competing in the Region of Murcia triathlon sprint championship.

The starting gun is fired at 10.00 and in the first leg competitors take to the water for a 750-metre open water swim at the natural beach of La Llana, leaving the water to set out on a 20-km cycling route which follows the road to the port among the salt flats and the Avenida del Puerto.

Finally, the last leg is a 5-kiloometre run between the marinas of Villa de San Pedro and Las Salinas.

Unfortunately, registration for the event is now closed, but among the 313 entrants are a few dozen Brits and other non-Spaniards, making this a truly international event and one to take note of for athletes of all ages and levels who would like to take part next year!
