A wintry weekend ahead with grey skies and thunderstorms: Alicante weather forecast March 5-8
Thunderstorms, persistent rain and even a chance of snow in higher inland areas as temperatures drop across the province

If you were hoping for bright blue skies along the Costa Blanca, you might need to lower your expectations, unfortunately. It’s going to be a grey, damp and soggy weekend across Alicante. It will be wet and wintry at times with thunderstorms and more muddy rain forecast for the weekend.
Thursday March 5

The unsettled weather continues on Thursday with very cloudy and overcast skies. Moderate rainfall is expected and in northern coastal areas it could be heavy and persistent at times. There is also the chance of thunderstorms, and with dust still lingering in the air, some of the rain could fall as muddy showers.
Friday March 6

Skies will remain very cloudy with light to moderate rainfall throughout the day. Showers could occasionally be accompanied by thunder. Temperatures continue to fall, so it will feel noticeably cooler. Winds will be light from the northwest in the morning, turning southerly and moderate from around midday.
Saturday March 7

Expect another very overcast day with more light to moderate rain on the cards. It will feel a bit cooler overnight, particularly in the north, while daytime temperatures remain steady or slightly higher in the south of the province. Snow levels will sit between 1,400 and 1,600 metres, so higher inland areas could even see a sprinkling of snow. Winds along the coast will be light to moderate from the south.
Sunday March 8

Conditions will begin to improve slightly on Sunday, with cloudy skies giving way to some brighter spells later in the day. Light rain is still possible. Maximum temperatures will edge up a bit, particularly in the southern half of Alicante, while winds remain light and mainly westerly.
With cooler temperatures and steady rain on the way, it might be the perfect excuse to snuggle up and make the most of the wintry weekend weather before spring (hopefully!) settles in for good.

Minimum and maximum temperatures in Alicante
- Thursday March 5: Min 9ºC, Max 18ºC
- Friday March 6: Min 7ºC, Max 17ºC
- Saturday March 7: Min 4ºC, Max 15ºC
- Sunday March 8: Min 4ºC, Max 16ºC
